CFRE study group of the AFP Central Florida Chapter is now accepting applications. · Monthly Study Group will begin Friday, March 27 and end October 30, 2026.
CFRE International certifies experienced fundraising professionals who are aspiring to the highest standards of ethics, competence, and service to the philanthropic sector. The CFRE certification process consists of three parts: application, a written examination and agreement to uphold a code of ethics and Accountability Standards.
The Florida Chapter of AFP offers an eight-month study group to help prepare you for taking the CFRE exam. The Study Group is free and upon completion and registration to sit for the examination, the Florida Chapter will contribute $200 towards the cost of the test.
AFP Central Florida Chapter is now accepting students
- Updated requirement – candidates with 3 yrs. (formally 5 yrs.) experience may now sit for the exam
- CFRE Study Group will begin Friday, March 27 and ends in October 30
- Classes are held in metro Orlando from 2:30 – 4:30 pm typically on the last Friday of the month

- Class size is limited to 10 Students
- $200 scholarship for those who complete the course with only one excused absence and apply to take the exam

- The purpose of the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) Study Group is to provide an overview of the skills, techniques and program components based on fundraising experience at the five-year level. Participation in the Study Group assists students in learning or reviewing these concepts to prepare for the test. Content is based on six core knowledge areas related to fundraising and which are included in the CFRE exam. The Study Group meets monthly, with each of the eight study sessions lasting two hours. The course is taught by local professionals who have already achieved the CFRE credentials. Each instructor teaches course theory, provides practical applications and test-taking strategies.
